Smiling Acres Music Festival Returns for Second Year

With the world slowly opening back up, festivals and concerts are in full swing. One of which is the Smiling Acres Music Festival, hosted by GHS Artist, Mark Lavengood.

WHO: Smiling Acres Music Festival (SAMF) is family owned and operated. It is situated on 40 acres of pristine rural land just 40 minutes north of Grand Rapids, Michigan. We have an organized committee that meets weekly and executes all planning and preparations while also managing a large number of happy volunteers.

MISSION: To foster appreciation for live music, arts, and culture while uplifting aspiring and flourishing artists through concerts, community engagement, and education. SAMF fulfills this mission through an annual 3-day music festival every Fourth of July weekend, year round concerts, events, workshops, private engagements and other community serving programming.

WHAT: SAMF is quickly becoming a festival goer favorite amongst the lush Michigan Music scene and boasts a diverse lineup of some of the finest talent throughout the midwest while featuring several artists from the illustrious Grand Rapids Music community. We provide choice food and craft vendors, grounds to explore, hiking on our trails, comfortable camping options, five publicly accessible lakes conveniently located within five miles, 3,000 acres of state land close by for exploring, and a family friendly atmosphere.

PROGRAMS: 3-Day multi-genre (Folk, Roots, Americana, Rock, Hip Hop, World) Music Festival. This will be the 2nd Annual Smiling Acres Music Festival and we have already doubled our entertainment offerings while adding two extra performance sites on the grounds amongst other upgrades.

AUDIENCE: 800 all weekend camping passes will be available for purchase as well as day passes and childrens tickets. We expect to sell out. Attendance will also include staff, volunteers, artists, and vendors. Over 2,500 total visitors are expected throughout the weekend. Our goal is to continue cultivating a diverse group of audience members from all over Michigan and the midwest while scaling attendance sustainably year-to-year.
