ONLINE OLD TIME BANJO CONTEST – AUG 1-8, 2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic, musicians and music lovers alike are having to find new ways to present and enjoy music in the wake of live events being cancelled. As we enter the traditional fiddlers’ convention season, we seek to build community by hosting an ONLINE old time banjo contest at a time when our favorite competitions have been called off. Compete for CASH prizes, enter to win additional RAFFLE prizes, share your music, enjoy your peers’ music, and grow the online banjo community with us.
Post online, tell your friends, family, etc..! The Online Old Time Banjo contest is sponsored by Deering Banjos, and includes a $500 first place prize! Raffle contributors are Elderly Instruments, Pisgah Banjos, Enoch Banjos, Gold Tone Instruments, GHS Strings, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, and Free Dirt Records.
Every entry eligible for raffle prizes. Must be present to win if you name is picked, but you do not need to submit a video for raffle entry. Finals MC - Jake Blount, who will also perform a concert.
