I'd like to get a 5 string to 5 string cello tuning, but the .020 plain seems to be too loose and .027 roundwound a bit too taut for the high E. Perhaps you could provide something in between?
Hi Ville, we can't make a custom string. What I would suggest is to use an ST22 or ST24 from the Guitar Super Steels, thread a bass ball end on it, and try that for your top string. The guitar strings have a overall winding length of 39" long, so depending on the bass you're using, the string should clear the nut and be able to be tuned up.
Hellu. Is there a reason that the STB121, STB126, STB138 and STB180 aren't 38 inch scale but the rest of the strings are? Or is it just an typing error? Forgive my english hehe
Greetings GHS,
I am extremely pleased with the quality and attention to detail of your products. In particular, your line of Super Steels. Please keep manufacturing the STB180 as a single or a pack. After having the chance to play my friend Nick’s SUB bass with the GHS set, the low F hits like a ton of bricks. I’ve tried strings from kalium, rotosound, ernie ball, d’addario, and the Super Steel STB180 sounded the best for my personal 34” squier 4 string jazz bass. Thank you for your time and Happy holidays!
With high regards,
Christopher
HEY GHS! I am so pleased with your products and their quality, but please keep your .180 gauge string in stock, please! I am a metal musician from Southern California and I need this particular product from you, because it is the only product of its kind with this level of quality. I have a custom set of your strings for my 5 string SUB bass, tuned to Drop F. I have tried several other brands such as Kalium (0/10) and even RotoSound (2/10, taper on the big string was too long) to try and get that low, punchy F0, but mothing gave me exactly what I needed like the .180 and I felt obligated to match the rest of the strings to make it a set.
Please keep this line of singles! You’re saving many metal bassists a rabbit hole of headaches and forum posts with expired links.

Why is the .126 B string still 36.5 inch winding length?
