Ghadyego Carraro is a double bassist, composer, educator, and researcher from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He is a voting member of the Latin Grammy Academy and an associate researcher at CESEM - Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. He was a finalist for the 2025 Music Professionals Award. He is recognized as one of the great instrumentalists and composers of his state. He has performed in major Brazilian capitals and in several European cities, including Berlin, Leipzig, and Munich (Germany), Paris (France), Recanati, Fabriano, Coccore, and Castelnuovo (Italy), Zurich (Switzerland), Lisbon, and Sintra (Portugal).

Ghadyego Carraro goes beyond playing the double bass; he articulates territories. Carraro conceives a unique language within the concept of South American jazz—a sophisticated perspective that integrates the hybridity of contemporary improvisation with the rhythmic pulse of platinum roots.

His musical approach transcends the pampas environment and South American genres, drawing inspiration from the lyricism and harmonic architecture of masters such as Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Avishai Cohen, and John Patitucci, among others, to create a rich fusion of creative sounds. In his work, the bass (acoustic and electric) assumes the role of narrative unit, exploring textures, pulsations, and a language that evokes the border as fertile ground, a place of creation and dialogue that leads to a profound sounds intertwining.

In addition to a master's degree in acoustic bass and a bachelor's degree in music, he holds a doctorate in History, researching Amerindian and African influences in the construction of the sounds of Southern Brazil and the Platinum region, transforming his work into an environment of otherness and musical exchange.
