Started playing music at 12 learning drums and percussion in the school band and the Drum and Bugle Corps activity, and later transitioned to the bass guitar. He played in bands throughout high school getting his feet wet in the Houston and Austin music scenes. After time in the military serving in Afghanistan, he rediscovered music and began playing in the Texas Country Music Scene with various singer-songwriters as well as studying jazz with Dr. Woody Witt and Glen Ackerman at Houston Community College. Ernie currently plays bass guitar with Blayne Clower and works as a session instrumentalist for Brazos Bottom Records based in College Station Texas.
