Brandon Shaw is bass player who plays electric, upright, and synth bass, as well as a music director and DJ. He plays a variety of genres of music from pop, hip hop, soul, reggae, rock, and jazz throughout the Los Angeles area, and all over the world. He currently plays bass for the hip hop legend Nas, showing his versatility on the electric bass, while also playing upright for Nas’ collaborative shows with orchestras like the LA Phil.
In 2018 he published a book, “Startup Musician” where he helps young musicians start their music careers, and interviews 10 other freelance musicians doing a variety of things in music. He also runs the YouTube channel “Digging The Greats” where he breaks down the history, production, and stories behind some of the best music ever recorded.
