Hi Cale, thanks for the comment. No, the strings have been 37" winding since the late 90s and were changed to 37.25" about two years ago. That said, they're still not long enough for a multiscale bass. You need a string that's at least 39" winding for the Low B to clear the nut, on a typical 34"-37" fanned fret bass (Dingwall, Spector, ESP and the like).
I recently ordered the 5L-DYB off of amazon.de and to my surprise when they arrived the wind was 36.5" (which won't fit on my multiscale bass). This inconsistency is really disappointing. Did these strings change recently?
