GHS Welcomes Juan Treviño To The Artist Family

GHS Strings is proud to welcome songwriter, producer, and artist Juan Treviño to the GHS artist roster. A respected voice in the Regional Mexican/Tejano world, Treviño has built a career defined by musical excellence, award-winning songwriting, and a commitment to advancing the genre—a dedication that closely reflects GHS Strings’ own mission to innovate and help artists push musical boundaries.

Juan Treviño’s compositions have been recorded by some of the most recognized names in Tejano and Regional Mexican music, including Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning groups and artists such as La Mafia, La Energía Norteño, Grupo Sólido, Grupo Siggno, Los Palominos, Jimmy González y Grupo Mazz, Elida Reyna y Avante, David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, and Costumbre, among others. By working with this diverse array of acclaimed acts, Treviño demonstrates the versatility of his songwriting and proves his music resonates with audiences across generations and platforms. His work has also earned numerous songwriting participation certificates for Grammy- and Latin Grammy-nominated and award-winning productions.

In addition to his achievements as a writer and producer, Treviño has made a name for himself as an artist and performer. He was a member of Grupo Essencia, a Norteño/Tejano band where he served as lead vocalist and played the bajo sexto, producing five albums with the group between 1998 and 2015. In 2013, he released his first solo album, Juan H. Treviño Solo, which garnered widespread attention and was recognized as one of the most outstanding albums of the year in Houston, Texas.

Treviño continued to expand his creative reach with the launch of his singer-songwriter project, Juan Treviño Fragmentos, in 2017, collaborating with artists such as Armando Lichtenberger Jr. of La Mafia and David Lee Garza of Los Musicales. His work on “Siempre Es Así” featuring AJ Castillo earned him his first Latin Grammy, and his career has continued to rise with additional accolades and recognition, including Latin Grammy nominations for his work with Grupo Alamo and multiple Songwriter of the Year honors at My Tejano Awards and Premios Tejano Mundial.

Known for innovation as much as tradition, Treviño also became the first artist in the Regional Mexican genre to record at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee—blending country and Regional Mexican instrumentation on “Ya No Tenía Caso.” His albums Pedazos De Mi Alma (2019), Preseas (2022), and Para Empezar A Amar (2023) further established his range, with Para Empezar A Amar earning him a second Latin Grammy for Best Tejano Album. In 2025, he received his fifth Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album for his production 6.

“Juan is the kind of artist who raises the standard for everyone around him,” said Russ McFee. “His catalog speaks for itself: award-winning songs, fearless creativity, and real dedication to the craft. We’re excited to welcome him to the GHS family and support the sound he’s built through years of hard work."
