GHS Strings Welcomes Brazilian Double Bassist and Composer Ghadyego Carraro

GHS Strings is proud to announce the addition of Ghadyego Carraro to its growing roster of world-class artists. A double bassist, composer, educator, and researcher from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Carraro brings a distinctive voice to the international music community—blending technical mastery with a deep appreciation for the cultural roots of South American music.

A voting member of the Latin Grammy Academy and a research fellow at CESEM – Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal), Carraro has been recognized as one of his region's most influential instrumentalists and composers. A finalist for the 2025 Music Professionals Award, his work bridges performance, academic research, and cross-cultural collaboration.

Carraro holds a PhD in History from the Federal University of São Paulo (UPF), where he focused on the sounds and regional accents of Brazilian and South American music. He has a master's degree in acoustic double bass from the Federal University of São Paulo (UFG). His performance history includes major Brazilian capitals and European cities such as Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Paris, Zurich, Lisbon, and Sintra, among others.

Throughout his career, Carraro has shared stages and studios with an impressive list of global artists, including Arismar do Espírito Santo, Alegre Corrêa, Lucia Fodde, Lauren Conklin, and many others. As a studio musician, arranger, and musical producer, he has contributed to over 50 recordings and spearheaded projects like Live Bassists' Show and Voices and the Bass, spotlighting leading bassists and vocalists from around the world.

"Ghadyego's work perfectly embodies the spirit of musical exploration and cultural connection that we value at GHS," said Russ McFee, President of GHS Strings. "His technical precision and ability to bridge musical traditions make him a remarkable addition to our artist family."
