Switching from guitar to bass at the advice of his cousin Joe Ferry (Big Ska Band) because “Your fingers are too fat, play bass instead,” Alan D’Angelo fell in love with the instrument. After bouncing around the local metal scene in NY for many years, he joined the band Livesay, recording two albums with them and playing many local shows supporting national acts. During this time he also appeared on the album “The Dead Have Rizen” by Texas Horror Metal legends Ripper. At the recommendation of his friend Mike LePond (Symphony X) he joined the band Sleepy Hollow. While in Sleepy Hollow, he met Bob Ballinger, the founding member of Power Theory. After Sleepy Hollow’s demise he was asked to join Power Theory, and soon after toured the States with them in support of Vicious Rumors and Seven Witches. Since then, he has recorded the full length albums “Driven By Fear” and “Force of Will” and the EP “Something Old, Something New, & Something F**king LIVE! From Europe” as well as playing more shows across the US and Europe.  Just recently he has joined the symphonic metal band Everdawn - once again at the recommendation of Mike Lepond - at first being asked to fill in for Mike on a tour before being asked to stay on permanently.

Alan just finished two weeks overseas with Everdawn as sole openers for Michael Schenker's 50th Anniversary European Tour covering 11 shows in 7 countries, and now is working on the upcoming Power Theory anthology album and an album of 70s hard rock inspired songs with Last Breed, a side project with Power Theory guitarist Bob Ballinger that also features drummer Márton Veress (Armageddon, Prokolgép, Sinaro, Orgy)
