Randy Boen is a musician through and through, and has been learning and practicing music since he could make a sound. When you hear and see him play, you have no doubt that Randy is in his element. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, he was inundated with music from birth and influenced by the various sounds and styles around him. This led to him learning to play piano, guitar, bass, lap steel, mandolin, and banjo. But this also led to his love of the craft of songwriting and the art of music production. His main love will always be the electric guitar. He graduated from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA with a degree in guitar performance, and has the chops to back it up.

Randy started as a kid playing first rock, then blending jazz and fusion elements, and starting one of the south’s most beloved jam bands at the turn of the century, Mile 8. From Mile 8, Randy went on to be the lead guitarist in Johnny Neel and The Criminal Element. Johnny Neel played with The Allman Brothers Band and Bruce Willis, Government Mule, just to name a few. He called Randy “one of [his] most important friends and collaborators, and a damn good guitar player and singer”.

Randy is currently traveling the world with country artist, Chris Janson, playing lead guitar and lap steel for hundreds of thousands of music fans. Playing over 150 shows a year with Janson, Randy will perform from music festivals, to intimate concerts at historic venues and regular appearances on the Grand Ole Opry.
