Some have called them "The Beastie Boys of Bluegrass". Others have described them as "Hee-Haw on acid". When you ask Rock Bottom String Band to describe their own sound, they simply call it "Boozegrass". Since its formation in 2013, over the course of a series of whiskey fueled Saturday night hang outs, Rock Bottom String Band has gone on to release two full length records (with a third on the way), tour all over the U.S. as well as Mexico, and open for a broad spectrum of acts from Emmylou Harris to The Dead Kennedys.

Alex is one fifth of the current RBSB line up, contributing as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the band. Exposed to music from an early age by a Pianist Mother and Drummer Father, Alex picked up his first guitar at the age of 12. With the advent of guitar tab websites in the early 2000's he was able to teach himself the basics, but never looked at it as more than a hobby. Fast forward to 2013, after moving to San Marcos,TX and becoming deeply involved in the thriving local music scene as a fan, he set out to start a band of his own. Along with fellow founding members Tara Miller and Mackenzie Dart, Rock Bottom String Band was formed with the lofty goal of playing their legendary local dive bar The Triple Crown. Since achieving said goal, Alex has toured the nation with RBSB without any signs of slowing down. Always forward, never straight. RBSB til we die!
