Bassist/Producer John Inghram has been making a name for himself as one of the most sought after musicians in the Appalachian region and beyond. John tours and performs regularly with Landau Eugene Murphy jr (2011 Winner of “America’s Got Talent” ), jazz pianist Bob Thompson, bluegrass phenom Johnny Staats, Appalachian jam-rock powerhouse Fletcher’s Grove and many more. In addition to these John has also backed artists such as Janis Ian, Chuck Prophet, Butch Miles (Count Basie band), Christian Lopez, Vic Chesnutt, Catherine Russell (Steely Dan), Kendra Foster (D'Angelo, George Clinton), Heather Masse (the Wailin’ Jennys, Prairie Home Companion), Larry Coryell, Branford Marsalis, Ron Sowell, William Matheny and many others.
Some of John’s proudest moments are his performances on the famed Mountain Stage radio show featuring Larry Groce, which can be heard across the globe on National Public Radio. This year will also mark John’s twelfth year playing for pianist Bob Thomspon's "Joy to the World" Christmas jazz concert which airs annually on NPR and Public Radio International.
In addition to backing other artists as an instrumentalist John also stays busy writing, performing, and producing music of his own and also for commercial use. Some of his work has been featured in videos for Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau, ad campaigns for the West Virginia lottery and the Clay Center for Arts & Sciences, and recently the theme to FestivAll’s “Three Things” storytelling series. He is currently composing and arranging music for his first full length record due out early 2019.
