Brett Cohen is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer originally from Southern California who began his professional career in 1994 at the age of 14. Now a Las Vegas resident, Brett is the guitarist and band director for ABC television's THE WEEKEND IN LAS VEGAS as well as the guitarist and musical director for the COUNTRY SUPERSTARS show appearing at various casinos and properties in Las Vegas. He also is the guitarist, vocalist, bassist, and songwriter for THE JUPITER YEAR, an original and cover band that plays around various Las Vegas casinos such as The Venetian, Tropicana, Flamingo, Bally’s, and Monte Carlo. As a side man he has performed live with Rita Coolidge, Dan Aykroyd, Michael Grimm, Mike Woods (America), and American Idol's Amanda Avila among others, and his bands have opened for such diverse acts as The Tubes, CCR, Jodeci, The Supertones, Stavesacre, Sugarcult, Enuff Z’Nuff, and many more. Brett is also a voting member of the Grammy committee (The Recording Academy), and is an artist endorser for G&L Guitars, Joyo Audio, Blackstar Amplifiers, Luna Acoustic Guitars, EMG Pick Ups, and Tsunami Cables.

In 1999, after years of gigging, touring, chasing the ever elusive "record contract", getting said contract and having his projects shelved, Brett Cohen formed the indie rock band Human Christmas, and started his own independent record label (Juice Lee Records). They released a full length album, SEE YOU TUESDAY in 2000, and an E.P., THE LAST DAY THEORY, in 2002 before splitting up later that year. Both recordings are being re-released in 2017 on Brett's new label, Just A Guy Music, in honor of the band's reunion album that is in process now.

From 2002 to 2010, Brett turned his attention primarily to being a session musician, side man and/or songwriter for other artists, and a producer. He performed with bands and artists in almost every genre imaginable, and appeared on a handful of internationally released recordings. He still works frequently as a session player and sideman for bands across the U.S.

In 2010 Brett released a hard rock album with the band Failing Sun (Rhombus Records) which he performed on, as well as Co-Produced, and composed the majority of the music. The album, entitled VOID, was recorded partially at his own studio, and partially at Scott Weiland and Doug Grean’s Lavish Studios in Burbank. It was considered for a Grammy nomination for that year’s Best Alternative Album.

Deciding to take his music in a different direction, Brett went on to form The Brett Cohen Band. Their debut album, BIG LOVE (Musik and Film, UMG), was released in 2012 and was a tour de force of guitar-based blues/rock reminiscent of The Allman Brothers, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The album gained him some notoriety in the blues community, and one of his singles, I JUST WANT TO GET YOU HOME, crossed over to country and rock radio, and was put into rotation on over 250 radio stations world-wide. This album featured original compositions primarily written by Brett, and was also co-produced by Brett.

In late 2013, Brett independently released two new singles (under his own name); WHERE I’M SUPPOSED TO BE and THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED.

In 2015, Brett formed THE JUPITER YEAR with fellow Southern California natives Anthony Raya (Drums) and Jase Naron (Bass, Vocals, Guitar). The hard rock jam band has been performing around Las Vegas at some of the area's most prestigious locations, and they are currently writing and recording songs for their upcoming release.
