Rick Marcel was born in Rochester New York. He was given the gift to play at a very young age. At the age of fourteen he and his band “Radiance” played many adult venues... they were the youngest teenage act on the scene. He later moved to Houston and began his career as a session musician, playing on most of the Dirty South Hip Hop scene. He played for artist such as: The Ghetto Boys, Rap A Lot Records, Cash Money Records/ Juvenile, The Big Tymeres, Lil Wayne, Hot Boyz UGK, Pimp C, Slim Thug, and Solange Knowles.

In 2010 Rick went back to the R&B and Jazz scene; while playing at local Houston venues and leading his own band; he received a call from Roman Johnson (band leader) of international artists the Isley Brothers who saw him on a You Tube video singing “Who’s That Lady. He was hired and toured with the Isley Brothers Group. Thereafter opportunity came again to play for Charlie Wilson and he joined Los Angeles Recording Group DW3.

As a masterful guitarist, his talent has placed him in high demand. He is currently touring with international artist Stephanie Mills as lead guitarist and male vocal partner and currently working with Kenny Lattimore. He played a variety of sessions for Deniece Williams and will be performing with her in 2016 on the Soul Train Cruise. Rick continues to play at land mark venues like “Spaghettinni” (where many great artists have performed,) the Dave Koz Cruise, the Smooth Jazz Cruise, and the Soul Train Cruise. As a guitarist and singer, many have coined him as the new (Santana) with vocal abilities ranging from smooth second tenor (Smokey Robinson) to a rich deeper tones (David Ruffin/Bobby Womack,) yet with a jazz style (George Benson.)

Rick is presently working on his upcoming CD titled “Giving My All” which is a blend of Jazz and Soul Music.
