About Group

For those of us of a "certain age" (read that as "old"), the 1960s and onward Yamaha acoustics were our entry to guitar playing. Sure, they were mostly plywood instruments, but their performance was always punching well above their price points.

Nowadays, these old boxes STILL have a place. Despite being plywood they've mellowed with age, and often they're cheap and plentiful enough that they can still be excellent guitars for the casual player, or even for performers.

To paraphrase General Douglas MacArthur...  "Old Yamahas never die... they just play and play and play away...".
