What had inspired me to play music and guitar was when me and my mom moved in with my step dad i saw him and his band play and would always sit and watch their band practices. When they would take breaks or be done and leave their gear around, I would go in the music room they had and play all their instruments and learn how to use their equipment. I would rush home after school when no one was home to practice playing loud. I had kept asking for my own guitar but my parents didn't think i would continue and would get bored of it really fast. Finally after a year of playing on my step dads bands guitars and bass and asking for my own guitar over and over my family gave me nothing but gift cards and money to go buy my own one Christmas. I wanted something different then everyone. So instead of the usual fender guitars everyone starts out with, i bought a B.C. Rich Warlock Kerry king signature model. I really started learning guitar at age 12 in middle school music classes. To prove i was serious about playing and that i had been practicing i invited my parents to come to a winter concert i was in at my middle school and shocked my mom by how much i learned within that little amount of time.
My first band was a rockabilly/Psychobilly band that i played bass for at age 14 called The 45's. I played my first big show at a local venue in Corona called the showcase where we were in a battle of the bands and we had won and were scheduled to go on to the next round but shortly after the venue had closed and the band had disbanded as well. Following that I played for a Spanish reggae ska band called Vidalta that was formed by my drummer from The 45's and few of his friends and I. We played lots of shows and a few festivals. After a few years i had to leave the band to keep up with work and college.
During this time of not playing with any bands for a few years I kept writing and playing guitar and practice my skills at recording and engineering. I would collaborate with friends and write music and put them out on soundcloud. Soon after I was offered an audition for a band called Contortion in 2015 and immediately was offered the position as lead guitarist. They are my main band and I still play and tour with them. Not even a year into the band and we had played a few nationally known festivals which were the Rockstar Mayhem Festival 2015 where i got to meet Kerry King and tell him about my first guitar. We took pictures and a few shots of whisky together. Definitely one moment i will never forget. Shortly after that we were offered to play Knotfest and opened up 2nd main stage on the Sunday of the event. Being able to now say I've played the same shows with so many great bands such as All That Remains, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer, Kind Diamond, HellYeah, Devil Wear Prada, White Chapel, Korn, Trivuim, Gwar, Cannibal Corpse, Body Count, Snot, Kataklysm, Otep, Mushroom Head, Soulfly and so much more.
Through Contortion I also became the guitarist for Mr. Krinkle a Primus tribute band and continually and actively play shows with them, sometimes even together with Contortion.
