Bluegrass banjo artist, Randy Hawse, makes his home in Wilmington NC. A soft spoken, West Virginia native, Randy discovered his love for the fast driving, three finger banjo style banjo, when he first saw Earl Scruggs. At thirteen he started developing his style on the banjo, mimicking the licks he learned as he watched his idols, JD Crowe, Kenny Ingram, and Earl Scruggs. Touring, and performing at many venues, with various artists, and bands, Randy has made a name for himself as one of the most prolific banjo players in the country. Being a bluegrass purist, Randy specializes in traditional bluegrass banjo, playing only GHS JD Crowe Signature PF135s on his collection of banjos. The GHS PF135s offer the punch that it takes to pull the sweet banjo tones associated with the bluegrass genre. Currently, Randy can be seen touring with Folkstone Stringband.
