SOPHOMORE CD DROPS NOVEMBER 2ND
On November 2, 2007 SHRAPNEL will self-release "Torn From Existence". Legendary rock venue Emos, located at 603 Red River, will play host to the Austin CD release party that evening and concert doors open at 8PM. Special guest bands also performing at the celebration include local metal favorites Powderburn, Course Of Ruin, Prey For Sleep, as well as Houston's Epic. The event will be produced by Metal Freaktress Productions and sponsored by Robb's Metal Works in San Antonio, TX.
The ten-song CD was produced by brothers Aaron and Evan Canady along with Danny Stapleton and is the band's second full length release. |
It has been over a year in the making and will position SHRAPNEL as a stand out guitar-driven band in both the metal and hard rock worlds.
They straddle both genres as their signature sound becomes increasingly evident in this work. Not only are exceptional guitar riffs and solos reminiscent of arena-era rock showcased here but an intrinsic rhythm section reveals itself and songwriting maturity has reached new heights.
"Torn From Existence" offers at once a familiar and fresh approach and critics have said SHRAPNEL is poised "for a shot at redefining metal!"
In related news, Third Coast Productions, comprised of Austin filmmakers Jason Farmer and Harold Hyde, have filmed and produced SHRAPNEL'S first ever video, "Buried Facedown" which will debut at the "Torn From Existence" CD release party prior to the band's performance.

The band has also announced plans for a February tour in support of the new record that will route them through new territory along the East Coast and return them to the Midwest where they were extremely well-received last year during their 'Revolution In Progress' tour. Tour dates and locations will be announced in November.
SHRAPNEL is endorsed by GHS Strings, Rocktron, and Silverfox.
