The Swear

In just one year, The Swear has become one of the biggest buzz bands in the Southeast. The group formed in Atlanta in early 2004 – as songwriter, vocalist, guitarist Elizabeth Elkins joined forces with drummer Kent Aberle, bass player Kevin Williams and guitarist Jeremy Zamora. The Swear quickly developed a large popular and critical fan base, all drawn to the band’s angular, hooky rock songs, unique lyricism and incredibly intense live shows. The Swear’s live show is a cathartic release, writhing with the kind of rock and roll abandon made famous by bands like the Sex Pistols and Nirvana. Jeremy, Kevin and Elizabeth slam guitars into amps and stage floors, while Elizabeth has walked dazed off stage with a bloodied forehead after a particularly passionate performance.

That kind of performance has already earned the band a spot on the Vans Warped Tour, Warped’s Girlz Garage Tour and at Atlanta’s Music Midtown. With numerous television and film placements – ABC (“Life As We Know It”), the WB (“Roswell”), MTV (“Road Rules,” “The Real World,” “Extreme Challenge,” “Undressed”), the Discovery Channel (“Outward Bound”), the films The Delivery Boy Chronicles, By Chance and Cross Country, The Swear is living up to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's description of the group as Atlanta's most powerful combo. With almost no marketing budget, The Swear’s single “Deadfall” hit commercial radio specialty shows and charted on FMQB’s Top 20 (#17, the only unsigned band), The Album Network (#16, also the only unsigned band) and UNCLE (#16).

The Swear has been featured on Demo Diaries, Kings of A&R, A&R Worldwide and Independents Only.
