Frances, having been in music over 47 years, singing and playing the Bass Fiddle and beginning her music career around 1975 with first band, The Bluegrass Generation, moving from Georgia to Louisville, Kentucky where bluegrass was hopping in the days when Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill were playing bluegrass around the same area.  Both Ricky and Vince were guests on a couple of early BG albums.  

While living in Louisville, the Bluegrass Generation each received Certificates honoring them as Kentucky Cornels‘.

Back to Georgia around 1978, and a few bands later, Frances Mooney & Fontanna Sunset was born in 1998.

Their material ranges from old Country, Gospel, a little dab of Rock & Roll and of course Traditional bluegrass.

Receiving two IBMA Recorded Event of the Year awards
2006 for “Back to the Well” and again in 2009 for “Bluegrass Bouquet”. 

Frances, a Co-Producer of “Bluegrass Bouquet” with Miss Dixie Hall.

Frances Mooney & Fontanna Sunset receiving awards and numerous nominations throughout her music career and with the changes of refining the band’s sound, we have what we need to continue down the road to success!
