“Colin Sapp is your secret weapon.” – Jeffrey Lockhart (Beyoncé, Lettuce)

Colin Sapp is a seasoned session guitarist with over 150 album credits to his name. Getting his start in Flint, Michigan, he has performed with Backstreet Boys, Ally Brooke (Fifth Harmony), GRAMMY Award winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, and James Wolpert (The Voice), among many others. Equally at home in many genres, Colin has carved out a distinct sound among contemporary guitarists, cross-pollinating his favorite elements from every style into his own unique brand of playing. His original quartets Choose to Find and Infinite Out are what he considers to be his personal artistic projects where he can “flex a bit”.

As much as he cares about his own artistic integrity, Colin is equally passionate about furthering others’ guitar playing. Colin is Assistant Professor of Guitar at Berklee College of Music where he teaches contemporary jazz, rock, pop, fusion, funk, country, and blues guitar styles. Colin is a published author with articles on performance, pedagogy, and peer mentoring and he has given clinics and masterclasses internationally. Colin’s YouTube channel for aspiring guitarists -- INSIDE OUT GUITAR with Colin Sapp -- contains concepts, drills, and advice that he has accumulated over his many years of teaching.
