Grant Mickelson (Taylor Swift Band)
Biography: Lead guitarist Grant Mickelson joined Taylor Swift’s band in 2007, when she was opening shows for several top Country artists. Now, as Swift headlines stadiums and arenas around the globe, Mickelson plays a close-to-two-hour show for tens of thousands of fans a night. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Mickelson started off playing guitar anywhere and everywhere he could – from his high school talent show and his parents’ church, to bars across the Midwest. He moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University, and joined Swift’s band after touring with Sara Evans, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Lady Antebellum. In addition to touring with Taylor, he has played guitar on her blockbuster Speak Now and Fearless albums. As Taylor’s lead guitarist, Mickelson has toured the world and used many types of guitars in the process. GHS is the only string Grant has used on his electric guitars since 2007, and they are an integral part of his guitar tone.
