"Strings on a uke is like a coat of paint on the walls in a room. The color is going to make a huge difference in how that room looks." With that, GHS Product Specialist Jon Moody started into a discussion on the various types of ukuele strings out there, to the Motor City Ukes, a ukulele group that meets monthly in Farmington Hills. In their third year, the MCUkes present a balanced meeting, filled with news, a group strum and an educational minute. It was with this in mind, that Craig Fuller, head of the MCUkes, invited Moody to come over and speak on behalf of GHS.
"It was an honor to talk strings with everyone," states Moody. "We're in a really cool spot with ukulele players right now, in that they're just starting to see a growing selection of strings for them to try. While this can be overwhelming, I hope I encouraged everyone to dive right in, and start trying out different strings on their ukuleles."
In addition to Moody's discussion, all attendees (around 30-35 people that night) were also given a set of GHS Strings to try on their ukulele.
The Motor City Ukes meet every month. For more information, please visit their website at www.motorcityukes.com.
